English words stay in English

An English word inside a Hindi sentence is transcribed as the English word, in Latin, rather than transliterated into Devanagari.

Timing measured, not estimated

Every word carries its own start and end taken from the audio, so subtitles do not drift across a long clip.

Hinglish — two languages in one sentence

Hinglish is not Hindi with a few loanwords — English nouns, verbs and whole clauses sit inside Hindi grammar, and Hindi conjugation wraps around English roots. It also raises a question no single-language video does: the sentence is written in two alphabets at once, Devanagari for the Hindi and Latin for the English, and a transcript has to make that choice the same way every time rather than per sentence.

Wrong word? Fix it in seconds

Every word is editable with the video playing beside it, and you can drag any word’s timing by hand.

Questions

Do I get Devanagari or Latin letters?+

Devanagari for the Hindi, Latin for the English words — which is how Hinglish is written when it is written properly. Romanised Hindi is a keyboard convention; subtitles on screen belong in the script.

Does it translate my English words into Hindi?+

No. Words are transcribed in the language they were spoken in, so the sentence on screen is the sentence you said.

Can I fix mistakes?+

Yes. Every word is editable in the browser with the video playing beside it, and each word's timing can be dragged.
